My medications have recently changed. I am no longer happy with my Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan.
Is there something I can do?
Yes, you have the opportunity each year to revisit your current prescription drug plan.
This period of time is called the Annual Election Period (AEP). AEP runs from October 15th to December 7th each year. During this time, you are able to review your policy with your agent, compare other plan options that may be available in your area, and move to a different plan if it makes sense to do so.To prepare for a plan review meeting, consider the following:
- Book your appointment in advance. Many agents began booking their appointment for AEP in September to make sure all clients can be seen in in a timely fashion during the short window that is AEP.
- Prepare a list of current medications that includes dosage amounts.
- Document what you like, and do not like about your current plan. This helps your agent a great deal with researching potential alternative options.
