Yes, you have the opportunity each year to revisit your current prescription drug plan.

This period of time is called the Annual Election Period (AEP).  AEP runs from October 15^th to December 7^th each year.  During this time, you are able to review your policy with your agent, compare other plan options that may be available in your area, and move to a different plan if it makes sense to do so.

To prepare for a plan review meeting, consider the following:

1. Book your appointment in advance. Many agents began booking their appointment for AEP in September to make sure all clients can be seen in in a timely fashion during the short window that is AEP.
2. Prepare a list of current medications that includes dosage amounts.
3. Document what you like, and do not like about your current plan.  This helps your agent a great deal with researching potential alternative options.

In conclusion, a plan change can be accomplished during AEP. Setting time to schedule an appointment and gathering valuable information for your agent is beneficial and can simplify the transition to a new policy.
